Before visiting your IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center for in-person you need to call 844-545-5640 to schedule an appointment; all TACs provide service by appointment. Once you have made an appointment , you will receive an automated email to the address you provide. The email will confirm the day and time of your appointment. You should consider the self-service options on IRS.gov website before calling for an appointment. You can usually resolve many questions online without having to travel to a Tax Assistance Center.
