My Tax Returns for the year 2020 were mailed 3/19/21. As of 6/2/2021 I have not yet received my refund. Last year, my Tax Returns were mailed in March,2020. However, the IRS claimed they could not Identify me. I have been filing taxes since 1950, 71-years and my identity has never been questioned. The ID tests online were completed, and my ID was confirmed. But then additional tests were presented. After contacting Senator Angus King’s office, a Tax Consultant managed to confirm my identity through the Augusta IRS office after I supplied them with several pieces of identification. I received my refund check in November, 2020, nine (9) months after filing. Is my Identification being questioned again. Will I be subjected to several tests to confirm my name, age, SS Number? Should I contact Sen. King’s office for assistance to help confirm my identity? Lastly, why after 71 years is my Identity in question?
