I had set up a payment plan with IRS to do automatic deductions from by bank account but they stopped suddenly without my authorization then sent me a demand letter to pay 3000k in full or face lien and other harsh consequences. When I drove to the Nashua (NH) IRS office to explain my case on 12/30/2020, and that I wanted the payment plan restored, the man who I spoke to was rude, unhelpful and insensitive almost to a point of mockery and sarcasm. His default response to my every question was “I don’t know, call IRS.” When I asked him if I had driven from Massachusetts to New Hampshire in vain, his response was “Pretty much.” I found this to be very callous and mean. I pay hefty taxes and I am not a tax evader or defaulter. I am a hardworking citizen and did not deserve such insensitivity and rudeness. I am very disappointed with the IRS customer service.
